Legal Labelling Requirements

The Food Information to Consumer (FIC) regulations set out the way that pre-packed foods are labelled in the UK and Europe, and place a statutory requirement upon food service operators to clearly label the presence of allergens intentionally added as ingredients to their products.

NT Assure check hundreds of labels each month and provide a simple to read report which details the areas of compliance and non compliance to the Food Information to Consumer regulations. The report contains 14 sections dealing with all the mandatory information that is required under relevant legislation. Timely feedback during any product launch is essential therefore NT can provide an express service to turnaround your artwork with a next day service where necessary.

Our food law and label compliance team is headed up by trading law expert Ellis Northover. Ellis, a leading industry specialist has worked in both the public sector and with private sector retailers. Ellis is also a member of the Trading Standards Institute.
